Hainault Hydrotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre

Hainault Hydrotherapy liaise closely with your vet ensuring we tailor our program to your dogs specific needs. We also work closely with an onsite ACPAT physiotherapist who can provide additional treatments as required.

We have a large hydrotherapy pool and water treadmill. The choice of hydrotherapy method used is dependent on your dogs condition, behavior and breed considerations. We find some dogs prefer to have all four paws on the ground. In some cases we have found that a combination of treadmill and pool sessions has achieved the best results.

Pool

Our pool is constantly heated to between 28 - 30 degrees enabling the dogs to get maximum benefit from their time in the water whilst providing a safe and fun environment for your dogs rehabilitation. Sessions last up to 30 minutes with exclusive use of the pool. A trained hydro therapist is in the pool at all times in order to help relax your dog and ensure correct movement to maximize the benefit of every session. Our aim is to make swimming fun, encouraging your dog to work hard and benefit as much as possible.

Treadmill

Our treadmill is ideal for dogs to exercise whilst supported by the water to gain an excellent range of movement in the limbs and placement of the feet. The ability to vary the depth of the water and the speed of the treadmill allows us to cater for dogs of all sizes and abilities. Adjusting the water height allows us to increase or decrease the resistance the dog is walking against and reduce the weight on the dogs joints. It is also beneficial for elderly patients or those with heart or respiratory problems that find swimming in the pool too exhausting. The clear glass construction of our treadmill allows the hydro therapist the luxury of being able to see the whole gait of the dog unimpeded.

In addition to the above we also provide K-Laser treatments and stance analysis
