We have a large, half sunken, custom built swimming pool which is 5.1m x 2.5m x 1.2m deep. The external and internal ramps make it easy for us to assist dogs of all shapes and sizes into the pool. We have two hydrotherapists on site who will be with your dog at all times. Our pool has TWO high definition underwater cameras which allow us to have a closer look at how your dogs legs are moving through the water. This is a big help to see any areas of concern that we can work with using one of our many techniques.
We have two doors where we try to stick to a "one in, one out" system so if you have a reactive dog the risk of meeting another dog is minimal and it reduces the risks of any bumps to an injured dog. The office is equipt with a coffee machine and biscuits so owners can help themselves, yes we care about you too! We have non-slip mats in our waiting room which gives your dog added stability and comfort.
At Crossroads we believe one of the most important factors with hydrotherapy is making your dog comfortable. We will NOT put a stressed or unhappy dog straight into our pool but instead take our time to make sure they are comfortable with not just the centre but their hydrotherapist as well. We want all dogs to happily walk into the pool by themselves as a tense and nervous dog can go backwards quicker than they can go forwards! We like hearing how owners can not say our names or "swimming" to their dogs without them getting excited or how the dogs cannot wait to get into the door. We do encourage owners to participate in their dogs session as this helps to relax the dog and also is a great bonding experience.
We do have both a male and a female hydrotherapist as we are aware some dogs have preferences. Let us know if you would prefer a certain gender when booking for your initial assessment..
